Kiosk designs pt.1

Most designs for interactive kiosk designs tend to be similar with the exception being color, style and size of the screen. A lot of designs tend to be have a curve that stretches back a little, some come with keyboards if there not touch screen but most are now and slot of these are being used to fill out a job application at a store or for metro tickets and now kiosk have become a standard in the advertising and promotion.

Kiosk research

I typed kiosk on google image search to see what some kiosk's look like and I got a variety of types from the touch screen like the one at our school to liquor kiosk's and other stuff like that. So it seems kiosk's cover a variety of subjects from info to selling things. But the kiosk i'm considered with focuses on interactive features and being able to give a variety of info about the school in a neat, good looking design.

Proj.3 update/thoughts

Just learned what proj. 3 will be and we have to create a virtual, interactive kiosk for ccc. I know a little about kiosk's but i'm sure within the next couple days i will be learning a lot about them. From what I know so far we have to have a map, our video,the majors and other info about the school in an interactive format. For this project we are using flash, I never used this program but probably shouldn't be too difficult to get the hang of it. 

Midterm review

Just finished the mid term, where we had to make a promo for osaka, japan in an 1hr and 30 mins with sound. I basically did the same basic format from my ccc promo in this one with some changes of course. The audio I thought was fine not fantastic but I only spent like less then 10 mins with it so its not a world beater but not a piece of shit neither.Regardless I thought I did well and the time limit wasn't a huge issue, it only becomes an issue when you don't have an issue and time is lurking in the shadows ready to pounce when you least expect it.

proj 2 update/reflections

Just finished proj. 2, which was the audio/fix video project. It went well, as expected, a couple of small fixes to the photos but nothing major and the audio was good and matched. Now onto the mid term and proj. 3 and in the mean time here's a gif of a dinosaur fail.

Good promo music pt.7

This is a trailer for red dead redemption by rockstar games. Since I am doing the audio project i will just talk about the audio. The audio does a good job of going along with pace of trailer. In the beginning it's slow then picks up. The audio also perfectly catches the theme, time of the game. The music goes along nicely with the dialogue and other sounds in the trailer and overall just a good trailer on all fronts.

funny wrestling theme

This ridiculous theme is for william regal's "real mans man" gimmick and it is just awesomely bad. What this would look like in garageband is that they would have a train stop sound that flowed into the music which is pretty straight forward in terms of music with a couple of loops and the singer being the forefront of the theme.

Proj.2 update/thoughts

Hitting the home stretch with the project due wednesday. It's coming along nicely, I just have to fix some of the timing with the video and the music and fade it out nicely at the end. Only problem I have is after effects isn't the best with audio but I can get around it, it just takes a little elbow grease. Important thing is not to trip up here at the end like shane victrioino here.

Wrestling theme music pt.2

This theme, even though i don't know if they actually used it, is for the corporate ministry back in the 90's when they were a heel faction. I think its unique as it takes elements from mr. mcmahon's theme and undertaker's theme at that time and blends theme nicely. If this was garageband then it would have a lot of layers with the organ and the drums, guitar in the background. Each instrument is at different levels with the organ being the forefront and you can hear the drum keep the beat with the guitar at a low volume that it adds nice depth to the theme.

Wrestling theme music

This wrestling entrance is for the rock back in 03 for his hollywood gimmick, when he went heel(even though he was still cheered). What I like about the theme is just the it's great from the long intro to the guitar that comes later as well as the beat, that connects all of rock's theme together. If this was in garage band then it would have a one line for the intro then when the main beat hits it gets louder with overlapping instruments and the guitar would be a green bar because its a solo, so you can make that it garageband with those green bars and make whatever you want.

Good theme music pt.2

This bit of music comes from lord of the rings: fellowship of the ring and it is from the bridge scene when they are in the mines of moria. What I like about this is that you can feel the power and energy from this track and without seeing or knowing anything, it has that feel of being chased. Also the moments of calm followed by mass chaos is cool. There is also a lot of depth with all the instruments and chorus which is what you'd expect from a track this.

Music for design pt.7

This next song is "Rock Box" by RUN D.M.C. This was I believe there first single. In terms of garage band and how this song would look like if it was in gband. It would have a lot of layers with multiple guitars at different levels, the drum kit would be the one constant but it would have little changes here and there to keep it fresh. Overall it's one of my favorite tracks by RUN D.M.C. and when I listen to it while designing it always puts me in a good mood and pumps me up.

Promos I like Pt.6

This promo is for the newly released mass effect 3, since this project is about audio I will talk about how the sound makes this promo great. There is a variety of music that creates a variety of emotions from sad,mad to motivated and wonder. All the music flows nicely into each other and the music does a good job of reflecting the pace of the action going on in the video and with smooth animation in the beginning when switching from slow to fast and at the end switching back from fast to slow and overall it's just a great trailer.

Good vid mix

This video mix is about how Ray Allen, KG, and Paul Pierce came from losing teams and came together in Boston and won a championship. This mix has some good music that help create a mood  and the quotes are good and add depth and character and the editing for the most part is good and keeps up with the beat and overall just a nice mix that I enjoy watching.

Music for design pt.5

This next song to listen to while designing is "Now's My Time" by D.J.I.G. of the NBA 2k12 soundtrack as a 2k original. It's hard to pin point why I specifically like this track besides its something that anybody relate to in terms of its my time now and I'm getting my way. In terms of this song being in a garage band format, it would like having several track loops layered together, and keeping a constant beat with some changes hear and there and some effects applied to it to give more depth.
