when covers go wrong

This cover is for batman: arkham city goty edition, now of course as most know, this game is awesome and the cover for the game is cool but they just showed what the goty edition cover for the game and its horrible. For one all the quotes is stupid and pointless and its fine for a goty edition to have this stiff but save it for the back or just one or two quotes. Also the logo is small and barley noticeable so some people might not know what it is. The image of batman is cool but everything else is just god awful. 

cool covers

This cover is for max Payne 3. I like this cover because like the pervious games, it matches the style, tone of story and even though it has a lot of color it fits the film noir(neo-noir) look, feel of the story and the game. It looks like it could be a movie poster for a film noir movie with the portrait of characters with the setting. Overall just a cool cover for a game.

proj. 4 update/thoughts

been sketching thumbnails for all aspects of the cd cover and cd, going ok so far, translating the constant them over to the covers and cd and keeping it simple and clean and not doing too much, might do a pic on the front cover but not sure if i like the idea, just don't want all the sides to be the same but will brainstorm more to get better picture of cd.

proj.4 intro

for proj.4 we will be doing a CD cover for our vid/kiosk and its defiantly a nice departure from the other things we have been doing. The challenge is to carry theme from previous projects to this one, while making it look like a good CD cover in the process.

proj.3 update/reflection

Just finished proj.3, was pretty happy with it and despite the problems with flash crashing was able to finish it on time. Of course it has somethings that need fixing but just small stuff and was able to carry the theme from the video to the kiosk.

kiosk interface pt.6

This interface is for mystic lake casino hotel. It is a very visual kiosk since you want to see what this casino is all about. The pic is nice and i like how it separates the two sides, the welcome to font seems unnecessary and doesn't fit the whole vibe but everything else is nice and user friendly.

This interface is for infiniti and if real would probably see this at a dealer or a event where infiniti is attending. More pic heavy then the others because people want to see the cars not read them. The pic of the car is nice and i wonder if the pic changes based on the different pages or just changes like a slideshow of sorts. spacing is nice but thinking you could move the right hand vertical box down a little but besides that its a good interface for a car dealer kiosk.

This interface is for what looks like gambling on all kinds of sports events. The color choose is nice and different from most of the interfaces I have seen expect for the two red spots that kind of throw me off and  doesn't have any sort of red any wear else and maybe red doesn't fit this color scheme. But overall it's a nice interface that stands out from the other's i've seen.

this next interface looks like almost a virtual yellow book. With all the different categories of businesses in a particular area. Seems like light blue is the popular color among interfaces since I have seen a lot of interfaces with that color scheme. everything is spaced out nice expect for there is the empty space at the bottom right that annoys me and they could extend the bottom across or the right hand box all the way down because that empty space is very distracting.

This next interface looks like it could be at a supermarket or something like that since it's about free samples of products and coupons. Unlike the last one this is more visual with just the square blocks and the picture inside of it. It's very simple and meant for get in and out with no hassle. The colors are fine it makes the boxes pop out with the dark background.

obviously the most important part of the kiosk is the interface and navigating around it. I dont know what this interface is from but its basically what you'd expect from a basic kiosk interface. You have all the buttons that are easy to read and see with a visual along with it. Don't really get the picture of the hand and paper airplane in the back and probably should have just had the blue sky instead of the other stuff.

proj.3 update

Just learned how to put a vid in flash, it was pretty easy just typical flash set up. Seems like it wont take long to set up as long as you have an idea for the layout, it's just putting things into flash that makes it confusing but once I get one done the rest will fall through.

cool video game box art pt.3

this box art is for mass effect 3.What I like about this box art is that it has a epic feeling to it and feels more personal because the previous game had other squad members on it but this just has Shepard on it, telling me that this will be a more personal story then the other ones. Also the earth being under siege in the background is nice and its just a good quality cover.

This box art is for skyrim and its a good piece of box art because it is simple with just the logo,name and the old leather book background and stands out from the rest. It also ties in to the other games in the series with just the symbol on the box art because the other games in the series have similar box art. The old leather book texture is nice and gives it that old,historic feel to it,

this cool piece of video game box art is from red dead redemption. What makes this box art good is that it's simple and effective, unlike a lot of box art that has too much going on,you get a feel for the game by seeing the art. The logo is not centric,it is slightly below the middle which is nice.The American flag in the background is a nice touch and overall just a nice game box art.

flash imperessions

having just looked at flash and played around with it. Its what you'd expect from a adobe program in terms of basic set up and look with similarities to after effects and dreamweaver. The thing that will probably most give me trouble is the steps to get the animations down and when things pop up and how unlike after effects which does it automatically, you have to manual do it but beside the initial learning curve i should be able to get a hang of it for the project.

kiosk observations

It seems more and more that kiosk's have become more of a big deal to show info or promote something or sell you things. The main use of it at least now is to give you info or sell you something like redbox but kiosk's are used a lot to give info about travel like at a metro station you can go to a kiosk and get all the info you need like price, designations, etc and get your ticket there as well. All of them are easy to use and laded out nicely and doesn't take long to get what you need, which is something i need to apply to the ccc kiosk.

proj. 3 update/thoughts

The main part of this proj. is the layout of the "home page" and tying it with the vid but also easy to navigate and get around so that people when looking at it and don't stare at it for half minute looking dumb and confused when looking around to wear there info there looking for might be. So just been thinking about flash and how to set up for the layout and make it look good and easy to use.

cool logos

This is the new logo for the baltimore orioles , it combines the old cartoon logo of the past with some modern look and it is great. The logo is great not just because it pays respect for the past but more marketable then the realistic bird that preceded it and stands out more then the most logos of baseball teams and overall just a quality logo for a sport that honestly doesn't have a whole lot great looking logos, now if they can stop losing all the time it will make it that much better.

cool t-shirt designs pt.3

this t-shirt is by Adidas original brand and it was designed by Jeremy Scott, even this shirt that was designed by him is crazy expensive (60 bucks, are you serious). It is a nice shirt with a cool unique brand that does fit with the Adidas original brand. Its a cool pic that will defiantly turn a few heads and its not like other shirts,so it will stand out. Nice use of different colors and the Adidas trefoil logo on the gorilla is a nice touch.

Another cool t-shirt by air jordan brand (they make great shirts). it has almost a graffiti art style with a b-ball net and ball with the jordan logo inside the design and gives this unique look that people identify with jordan and its not completely center it is positioned slightly above the middle so that its not centric but not in a weird location or angle. It's just another good T by the old folks at jordan.

Cool T-shirt designs

This T-shirt is from Jordan, it comes in red and black. The design is based of a Rorschach drawing but instead it has the jordan 14's sneakers inside the drawing giving a cool look to the shirt and a very unique look that makes people look twice when looking at the shirt, the little Jordan logo above the drawing is a nice touch to show its a air jordan brand shirt without throwing it in your face. overall its a bad ass shirt
